West Virginia
I was hiking on weekend in West Virginia with a small group of people ( 4 out of 6 had  PhD in Biology or Chemistry).
It was nice (wind, rain and cold)   and a lot of fun.  Some small talk helped me to understand specific of scientific  work.

4 out of 6 ... sounds like an unpromising ratio to be sent off to a new planet with, or to be on an island Survivor-style with. What about the diversity of skills when dealing with the wilderness?

In the wilderness some key skills should be "a must have" attribute for any member of the group. PhD is not one of them. Maybe I was for a diversity.
